Description
No 16 High Street is an early 18th-century building that has been altered over time. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and features a stucco facade with coursing. There is a string course at the first floor level, a deep coved plaster cornice, and a hipped slate roof that extends over the eaves.
The front facing High Street has four sash windows without glazing bars, set within architrave surrounds. The ground floor windows have 19th-century drip moulds. To the right, there is a four-panel door framed by pilasters and a frieze, although the cornice above is missing.
On the Chequers Passage side, there is one dormer window, three first-floor windows, and two double windows on the ground floor, all featuring similar 19th-century drip moulds as those on the High Street side. The central six-panel door has an architrave surround and a flat moulded hood supported by double cut scroll brackets.
Nos 16 to 22 and No 24 form a group.
