Description

Thorn House is a detached house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of painted rubble stone with a Bridgwater tiled roof and gable-end brick stacks. The house is two storeys high, with a three-window front. A six-panelled door is located to the right of the centre, flanked by three-light, cyma-moulded casement windows. The first floor has a two-light mullioned casement above the door, with matching three-light windows on either side. A two-light casement window is visible on the ground floor of the left return, and a blocked attic casement. The rear of the property features 20th-century dormers and a 19th-century English bond brick extension. The interior was inaccessible during a survey in February 1987. As with other properties in the village, the roof was renewed during the late 19th century under the auspices of the Long estate.
