Description

This is an early 18th-century cottage situated at the end of a row in The Borough, Downton. It is constructed of Flemish bond brick with a thatched roof and a brick stack. The cottage is two storeys high and originally had a two-window front. The ground floor now has a 20th-century door and two two-light casement windows. The first floor also has two two-light casement windows. A brick plat band runs along the first floor. The rear of the cottage features a two-light casement window to the attic, and a single-storey extension with a tiled roof to the left. A more recent flat-roofed extension is also present. Internally, a chamfered beam with step and runout stops is visible.
