Description
No 31 on The Borough is a semi-detached cottage dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of English bond brick and features a thatched roof with brick stacks. The cottage has a through passage and is one storey with an attic, containing two windows. The central entrance is a planked door, flanked by three-light casement windows. There is a two-brick plat band at the first floor level, and two eyebrow dormers, each with three-light casements. The left side of the cottage has an oval window and a single casement on the ground floor, along with a two-brick plat band and an additional single casement on the first floor. Inside, the cottage retains its internal timber-frame structure, with chamfered beams and open fireplaces featuring chamfered lintels on both the ground and first floors.
