Description
This is a group of three chest tombs located in the graveyard, 5 meters south of the south porch of the Church of St. Nicholas in Wilsford. The tombs are situated under a large yew tree.
To the west, there is an 18th-century limestone tomb with a hipped top and oval side panels featuring inscriptions within wreaths of corn. It has end fluted pilasters and a reeded fascia, with swag and a death's head on the ends. This tomb is enclosed tightly in javelin-headed railings and is dedicated to Thomas Jarvis, who died in 1797.
To the east, on the north side, there is a limestone tomb with a moulded table and panelled sides, enclosed in fleur-headed railings. This tomb is dedicated to Thomas Twinning Springbatt, who died in 1753.
On the south side, there is a late 18th-century limestone tomb that features a low table with ogee moulding and panelled sides, but it is not identified.
