Description
6 and 7 The Street are two cottages, likely built in the late 17th century. They are timber framed with brick noggings, and the framing is covered with boarding on the roadside, while some chalkstone is present at the rear. Cottage number 6 consists of one bay, featuring a living room with stairs leading to a subdivided upper room and a kitchen located in a timber-framed lean-to at the back. Cottage number 7 has three bays, with the living room situated in the second bay of the frontage, extending two bays along the road to the south. Both cottages have pairs of two bays with central brick stacks and hipped roofs. Cottage number 7 has a door located opposite the stack. The framing is two panels high and includes tension braces to the gable.
