Description
Nos. 16 and 17 on The Street are two cottages in a row, dating from the 17th and 19th centuries. They are constructed of colourwashed brick with a thatched roof, with the brickwork replacing the original timber framing. The cottages are single storey with an attic. Each has a boarded and half-glazed door set in individual small brick porches. The windows are timber casements. At the rear of No. 17, some timber framing remains, consisting of three panels high with jowled posts, a heavy bressumer, and straight corner braces. No. 16 features a short two-bay cross wing, with only the corner posts remaining, and a lean-to along its side. No. 17 also has a gable lean-to under the same roof.
