Description

This is a 17th-century house, now divided into two dwellings, located on The Street in Wilsford. It originally comprised a cross wing on the left (number 14) and a two-bay block to the right (number 15). The house is timber-framed with a thatched roof. The left wing is a flush cross wing, while the right side consists of a two-bay block. The house features early 20th-century half-glazed doors and casement windows. The timber framing is three panels high, with corner braces. The roof has trenched purlins and is half-hipped; number 14’s attic window has a moulded cornice. Number 15 retains some of the original framing, including a chamfered oversailing wall plate and a flush gabled dormer. The doors and windows are similar on both properties. A stack is situated on the party wall between the two dwellings. The roof is half-hipped at the gable end and has an added stack and lean-to extension at the rear.
