Description
Woodrow Cottage and the attached cottage to the south are two cottages that have been converted into a house. They date from the late 16th century and have undergone later alterations. Each cottage was built separately. Woodrow Cottage is constructed of flint with scattered brick and features brick quoins. The left bay includes some chalk blocks and a jettied timber-framed solar. The roof is thatched. The building has two storeys, with a door on the right that has been changed into a window. It has paned casement windows and a brick stack located opposite the door on the party wall. The right cottage was originally composed of two bays and is made of coursed chalkstone and flint, with the gable rebuilt in brick. The entrance in the left bay has also been converted into a window, opposite the stack on the party wall. Inside, the fireplace used to have an oven, and some smoke-blackened roof timbers are incorporated into the current roof.
