Description

Hawthorne Cottage is a cottage from the 18th century located in Great Durnford. It is constructed of flint and has a rendered front with a thatched roof. The building is single storey with an attic and consists of two bays, featuring a lean-to at the north end. Inside, there is a central living room with an axial stack, and the entrance is located in the narrower south service bay, which has a boarded door. The original entrance has been replaced by a 20th-century slated porch on the south gable. The cottage also has mid-20th-century paned metal windows, a brick stack, and an additional stack on the south gable.
