Description

This 17th-century cottage stands to the west of the church. It is two storeys high, built of coursed dressed stone with a stone tile roof and brick chimneys. The cottage has two gabled half-dormers on its roof, each featuring a three-light stone mullioned window with leaded lights on the first floor. Below the dormers are two similar two-light casement windows on the ground floor. A central, gabled porch with a stone tile roof provides access to the cottage; the porch has a flat arched entry with a pair of wooden gates featuring solid bottom panels and upper bars. Inside the porch are seats on either side, and an inner ledged door. The end gables and dormers have bargeboards with spaced reel ornament along the edges. One gable formerly had a wrought iron lamp bracket.
