Description
Two Pinniger monuments are located in the churchyard about 20 meters northeast of the churchyard cross in Bremhill Village. These are two chest tombs from the early 19th century, constructed of ashlar stone.
The first monument, dedicated to John Pinniger and dating from around 1840, features plain raised angle piers and two raised plaques on each side. It has a moulded base, cornice, and ridge cap, with an inscription noting that John Pinniger died in 1840.
The second monument, for William Pinniger and dating from about 1845, has baluster angles, a moulded base and capstone, and rectangular bordered plaques on each side. The inscription identifies William Pinniger as being from West Kennett.
