Description

The Village Hall and The Old School House date to 1846. They are constructed of squared ironstone rubble with stone slate roofs. The schoolroom has a coped west gable and a bellcote. The north side features two-light windows on either side of a Tudor-arched door set within a gabled porch covered with stone slates. A slightly lower east end range has a coped gable and a cross finial. The schoolroom windows are Tudor-arched, three-light, with transoms, located on the east and west sides. The southwest wing, which housed the school teacher's house, has a coped gable and a south end stack with two diagonal shafts. The west front features a Tudor-arched door on the left, above which is a trefoil date plaque. To the right is a two-light mullion window on each floor; the upper window is set within a shouldered dormer gable. A rear wing is also present.
