Description

Phoenix Row is a row of almshouses, now used as shops and offices, built in 1823. The building is constructed of colourwashed brick and features a thatched roof. It has three storeys and five bays. The ground floor has 20th-century shopfronts, except for the left bay, which retains a 19th-century shop window with a timber fascia. The first floor has timber casement windows, while the second floor features leaded casements. A central stone moulded panel displays the date and name of the building, and there is a clock installed below it, commemorating the 1977 jubilee. The roof is half-hipped to the left.
