Description

The Phoenix Inn is an early 19th-century inn, situated on River Street in Pewsey. It is constructed of painted squared rubble, with raised quoins. Parts of the side elevation are of painted rubble and brick. The inn has three storeys and a 3x3 bay arrangement. The original central entrance has been blocked, flanked by small canted bays; the right-hand bay now serves as the entrance. The windows on the first floor are tripartite, and the second floor has 9-pane single-hung sashes. A cast-iron bracket for an inn sign remains above the original entrance. The interior has been altered.
