Description
Two monuments are located in the churchyard about 6 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St John the Baptist. These are two chest tombs from the early 19th century. The first, known as the Day monument, is made of pennant stone and features lyre ends along with two oval low relief plaques on the south side, each depicting cherub heads. It has a moulded base and capstone, and it bears an inscription for William Day, who died in 1812. The second monument, situated about 3 meters west of the Day monument, is an unidentified square tomb with reeded angle strips and raised lozenge plaques on each side, topped with a moulded cornice.
