Description
Pond Cottage is a former miller's house, now a residential property, dating from the early to mid 19th century and altered around 1980. The building is constructed from coursed, squared limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof. It has a single-depth plan with a rear wing and stands two storeys high, with a two-window range. The cottage is attached to the left-hand end of the mill and has coped gables with kneelers. There is a doorway on the right side with a stone bracketed flat canopy and a recessed 20th-century door. The ground floor has a three-light flat-faced stone-mullioned window, while the first floor has a two-light stone-mullioned window, both featuring 20th-century leaded casements. The left side of the building includes a two-light window on the first floor, and the return of the rear wing has similar three-light and two-light stone-mullioned windows on the ground and first floors. The interior was altered around 1980.
