Description
The Old Chapel is a Baptist chapel that has been converted into a house, built in 1817. It is constructed of squared ironstone with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with coped gables. The building has a rectangular plan. The front facing the road includes flush quoins and an ashlar cross set into the gable, with a date plaque below. There are three-light mullion-and-transom windows on each side of the front, with round-headed top lights and hoodmoulds above. The central door is framed by a bead-moulded surround and has a high lintel decorated with four blank arches, also with a hoodmould above. Each side wall has two similar mullion-and-transom windows. The interior has been altered during the conversion.
