Description

Wans Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of ironstone and features a thatched half-hipped roof with a stack at the south end. The building is one and a half storeys tall and has a two-window range, giving it a small-scale appearance. The upper floor has two pairs of leaded casement windows located under eyebrow arches. On the ground floor, there is a small canted bay window with leaded lights and a door to the right, both of which are covered by a single fishscale-tiled lean-to roof. Additionally, there is a very small canted bay on the north end wall. A cottage has been marked at this location on J. Powell's map from 1763.
