Description

An early 19th century terrace of four houses and shops, located on the south east side of The Brittox. The building is constructed of Bath stone and extends to three storeys. The upper floors are divided into three bays each by Doric pilasters, with an entablature and blocking course. A projecting second-floor sill course is present. Original banded rustication on the ground floor is visible on number 32. The original windows are recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars, and have block sills to the first floor. Modern shop fronts occupy the ground floor. The return elevation to the High Street retains banded rustication to the ground floor and repeats the pilaster design to the upper floors; it has only three windows to the second floor, with intact glazing bars.
