Description
Crowdown milestone, dating from the early 19th century, is a tall stone standing about 4 feet 6 inches above ground. It has a rectangular shape with a triangular top. The front of the milestone features an almost illegible inscription that reads: "To Marlborough IX miles To Salisbury XVIII." This milestone is located on a disused road across the downs, which is now a farm track.
