Description

Aughton Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse located on the east side of AUGHTON, COLLINGBOURNE KINGSTON, near the A338. The farmhouse is constructed of diaper brick with a tiled roof. Originally three bays wide, a fourth bay was added in the 19th century on the right-hand side, extending beyond the original gable stack. The central entrance is via a gabled brick porch with a half-glazed door. A plat band runs horizontally across the facade. 20th-century sash windows are present on the first floor, with 20th-century windows on the ground floor and in the extension. An outshut is located to the rear and has been extended to cover the extension itself. The farmhouse was widened in the late 19th century, resulting in stacks being placed on the front pitch.
