Description
Little Hawkesgrove is a cottage dating from the 17th century and 19th century. It features a timber frame with colourwashed infilling, although much of this has been replaced with brick. The cottage has a thatched roof and is single storey with an attic. It consists of two bays, which include a living hall and an inner room. In the mid-19th century, a further bay was added behind the original gable stack, facing the road. The framing is three panels high. The entrance is located in a lean-to structure on the east side. The cottage has 20th-century windows, but there is a flush dormer in the attic above the hall and a flush dormer from the 19th century in the extension, along with 19th-century windows on the ground floor. There is a projecting oven at the side of the stack, and the roof is hipped over the extension with a rendered stack.
