Description

Brunton Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating to the circa 1820s and 1840s. It is constructed of large module brick in Flemish bond, with white mortar. The roof is slate-covered. The main structure is two storeys and three bays wide, with a two-storey porch added to the centre bay. The front features a four-panelled door with six steps leading up to it, flanked by narrow round-headed windows. Similar windows are present on the side returns. A plat band runs along the front. An upper window within the porch is a six-panelled single hung sash with a stone sill and dripmould. The porch gable has a narrow slit window. The side bays have similar six-paned sashes, fitted with louvred shutters. The windows have finely gauged brick lintels. The building has wide eaves. Two cogged stacks are present. The gable end features 20th-century windows, a plat band, and later 19th-century wavy bargeboards on a shallow pitched roof.
