Description

This is a 17th-century cottage located on the west side of Collngbourne Kingston. It is timber-framed and faced with colour-washed brick, and has a thatched roof. Originally two bays, it now appears as three bays with a 20th-century thatched porch containing the main entrance. The windows have been altered and are now steel-framed, dating from the mid-20th century. Three dormers are visible on the front. Exposed timber framing remains on the north gable end, showing jowled posts with straight corner braces to tie the frame, queen struts to clasped purlins, and a half-hipped roofline. A rear outshut extends from the main body of the cottage under the continuation of the thatched roof.
