Description
66 to 68 Kington St Michael are three houses from the 17th century that have been altered. They are built of painted rubble stone and feature a Bridgwater tile roof with a stack at the north end. The buildings are two storeys tall with an attic and are arranged in an L-shape. The front range, which includes Nos 67 and 68, has two hipped dormers. On the first floor, there is a triple casement window to the left, and to the right, there are two 18th-century three-light cyma-moulded flush mullion windows. The ground floor features two early 19th-century sixteen-pane sash windows and a 20th-century window to the right, which replaced a former three-light mullion window, although the hoodmould from that window still survives. The doors are located to the left and right of the central window; the left door has been replaced by a 9-pane window, while the right door remains in its original moulded stone surround with a hood supported by brackets. The northwest rear wing, which is No 66, has a west end stack and features 20th-century windows. The rear of the main range has a large chimney gable to the right with two diagonal brick shafts and a smaller central chimney gable.
