Description
Henge Shop is a house and shop dating from the 18th century, constructed of chalkstone with a tiled roof that has replaced the original thatch. The building is single storey with an attic, but the left side has been raised to two storeys and extended with a two-bay wing. The original structure consists of the left two bays, featuring a door that leads to a living hall and parlour in the right bay. A third bay has been added beyond the stack. There is a glazed porch from the 20th century over the entrance. The ground floor has bay windows, while the upper floor features paned casement windows. There are brick stacks, with the one on the right being inserted. The first bay of the lower wing has a similar paned window and tall timber doors at the brick end bay. The roof is hipped over the third bay, leading down to a lower tiled roof over the wing. There are 20th-century extensions at the rear. Inside, there is a chamfered spine beam, and the central partition has been removed.
