Description
The farm buildings at North Farm are a Grade II listed structure, likely dating from the 18th century. They form a continuous range along the north and west sides of the farmyard and consist of three distinct sections. The eastern section features sarsen stone walls, the central section has cob walls, and the western section combines sarsen walls raised in cob, with an open front. All sections have thatched roofs.
The right building is a three-bay cowhouse, while the central section was probably originally open-fronted and also serves as a cowhouse with three bays. To the left, there are three bays and a six-bay forward wing that forms a return to the west, with a roof that is at a lower level. The front posts of the buildings are jowled and support tie beams with queen struts and collars. This site is a rare example of farm buildings constructed using cob.
