Description
West End Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th or 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, featuring colourwashed brick and wattle and daub infilling. The building is single storey with an attic and a cellar, and the framing consists of three panels high with heavy corner braces and a chamfered wallplate. In the late 17th century, it was raised to two storeys by the addition of another panel. The entrance has a half glazed door located in the lower half of a two-bay hall, and there are paned timber windows. The roof is half hipped to the right and hipped over the return on the left, with a stack on the rear slope. The interior has not been seen but may be of interest, and the main open fireplace has been blocked in the 20th century.
