Description

West End House is a house and former shop located in Urchfont, dating from the early to mid 19th century. The building is constructed of brick and has a slate roof. It stands two storeys high and features a symmetrical arrangement of three bays on the left side, centered around a tall, fluted doorcase that holds a six-panelled door. The windows are sixteen-paned sashes with concealed boxes and gauged brick lintels. There are end stacks, and to the left of the stack, there are an additional two bays that are contemporary to the main structure but have a large bow window from the 20th century, which replaced the original butcher's shop window. The building also has a gable stack.
