Description
This is a house dating from the 17th century or earlier, built of rubble stone with stone tiled roofs. The property comprises two elements, originally listed separately, and now understood to be a single dwelling. The main range on the left has ridge and south-end stacks, two dormer gables, and recessed chamfered mullion windows. These include two three-light windows in the gables, and two further three-light windows with hoodmoulds below a central plank door, which has a timber lintel above it. To the right is a projecting wing with a hipped roof at the south-east angle and a stack on the east roof slope. The east end wall of this wing has a two-light timber mullion window on the first floor and a three-light casement window on the ground floor. The south return has a heavy timber lintel over a 20th-century casement window, with evidence it was formerly a door. A rear wing extends behind the main range, featuring a south side chimney gable and, on the west end first floor, a two-light window with an ovolo-moulded frame and hoodmould. To the right of the wing, a door leads to a through passage, and there is a 20th-century three-light window with a hoodmould. A stone, Tudor-arched fireplace is located at the south end of the main range, and there is a large, central timber-lintel fireplace.
