Description
No. 69 High Street is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone and features a stone tiled valley roof with coped gables and end wall stacks on the front range. The building has two storeys and an attic, with one hipped dormer. The eaves cornice is coved and slightly breaks forward over the first-floor windows.
On the first floor, there is a 12-pane sash window and a pair of 12-pane sashes, all with thick glazing bars and raised moulded surrounds, along with flush ashlar panels beneath. The ground floor has a 6-panel door to the left in a chamfered surround, and a 20th-century shop front to the right. At the rear, there is a wing with a west end stack, an attic single light, and an altered first-floor 2-light window, both featuring dripstones.
