Description
Mayo Fountain is a memorial fountain and drinking trough built in 1896 for C.T. Mayo of Ivy House. It is constructed from ashlar stone and features a pennant stone drinking trough at the front and a bowl at the rear. The fountain has a pedestal that supports an open moulded arch, which includes imposts and a keystone, with paired columns on either side. Above the arch is a cornice that breaks forward over the columns. The upper section displays carved roundels, with a monogram on the front and the date 1895 on the rear, topped with a curved moulding, a finial, and flanking short paired piers that have moulded caps and ball finials. Beneath the arch, there is a curved-headed block with an inscribed panel dedicated to C.T. Mayo.
