Description
Bartletts Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse located on the west side of High Street in Steeple Ashton. It is constructed of English bond brick with stone dressings and features a Bridgwater tiled roof with gable end brick stacks. The building is two stories high and has three windows on the front facade. The entrance door, positioned to the left of center, has six fielded panels, a moulded architrave, and a flat stone hood supported by brackets. To the left and right of the door are three-light beaded mullioned casements. A lintel string course runs along the building. On the first floor, there are three 2-light mullioned casements. The right side of the building has a 2-light 20th-century casement on the ground floor, set against a dressed limestone wall. At the rear, there is an added outshut and a double-gabled wing to the right, which is slate-hung and features 2-light casements. The interior was not accessible during the survey conducted in February 1987.
