Description
The Old School House is a building that was originally a school, dated 1832, and is now a house. It is constructed from squared rubble stone and features slate roofs with coped gables, showcasing a Tudor style. The north end has a single-storey schoolroom that includes a bell-turret on the north gable and a reset date plaque. The west side has three stone mullion windows with hoodmoulds and small-pane lights. The north wall was previously internal, with another schoolroom located beyond it. At the south end is the former teacher's house, which is two storeys with an attic and gable-ended facing the road. This section has a two-light mullion window with a hoodmould on each floor, a single light window on the first floor to the left, and a door with a hoodmould above it on the ground floor to the left. The windows are fitted with small pane casements, and there is a stack on the south side wall. The building is similar in style to Nos 1-4 The Hollow, which is located opposite.
