Description

Nos 52 and 53 on Martins Road are two cottages built around 1700. They feature timber-framing at the rear and a front made of Flemish bond brick, topped with a thatched roof and gable end brick stacks. The cottages are two stories high and have two windows each. Each cottage has a 20th-century door, with 2-light casements on the sides and a fire window on the right. The first floor includes both 2-light and 3-light casements, with No 52 retaining small-pane casements. The rear of the cottages has a ground floor lean-to extension, with the timber-frame exposed on the first floor.
