Description
Forge Cottage is a detached cottage dating from around 1600. It features square-panelled timber-framing with painted brick nogging and has a single Roman tiled roof, with a brick stack on the left and a hip on the right. The cottage is two bays wide, single-storey with an attic, and has a two-window east front. There is a 20th-century planked door to the right, with a small leaded light to the left and a larger 20th-century casement window also to the left. The roof has two 20th-century dormers. The gable end facing the road on the left has a 20th-century bow window and a two-light casement window on the first floor, with rubble stone on the ground floor and brick on the first floor. To the right, there is a lean-to extension. The rear of the cottage features 20th-century casements and a 20th-century conservatory extension, along with two dormers similar to those at the front. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey in January 1987.
