Description

Probably dating from the 17th century, with later additions, numbers 1 and 3 Wine Street are a two-story building with attics. The south front is constructed of coursed rubble and has a stone slate roof with two dormers featuring hipped roofs and projecting eaves. There are two windows on the first floor, each with paired lights, one a casement and the other a sash, set within stone frames featuring a stone mullion and rectangular drip-mould. Glazing bars are intact. The building extends north with a gable-ended range of two stories and an attic. This section has windows of one and two lights, each with stone window surrounds and mullions. Access is provided from a passageway at the rear. Numbers 1 and 3 are historically linked as a group with number 19 Newtown.
