Description

The gates to St Thomas's Church were built around 1868-70 and feature four cross-gabled stone piers adorned with foliage at the angles of the gablets. The main and side gates are made of cast iron, with wrought and plate iron designed in a fern leaf pattern, similar to the gates on St Thomas's Road. The dog rails include a trefoil ornament.

These gates are part of a group that includes Nos 4 to 6 and Nos 8 to 18 York Buildings, which are buildings of local interest, as well as No 19 The Vicarage and two lamp standards located to the northwest and southwest.
