WARMINSTER CHURCH STREET 1. 5411 (East Side) Nos 29 and 30 ST 8645 SE 5/66

II GV

  1. Late C18 or early C19. Converted into school in 1815, cf legend and oval panel on pediment to right, with school house to left. Now 2 houses. 2 storeys and attic. Left hand part (No 29): Built of coursed and squared rubble with projecting plinth and band at ground floor window head level. 2 ranges of late glazed sashes. Early C19 door to right with 4 panels and architrave surround. Old tile roof with 2 brick ridge chimneys. Right hand part (No 30): Ashlar with projecting framing of plinth, angle pilaster strips and frieze over 1st floor windows, carried up in shape of pediment with small moulded coping and oval date panel. Old tile mansarded roof, 1 dormer of 2 lights. 2 windows on 1st floor, 1 on ground floor, glazing bar sashes. 6 panel door to right with flat hood on curved stone brackets. The core of the house is probably mid to late C18.
