Description
The stable block to the north of Byne House is likely from the same period as the house itself, dating to the mid-18th century. It has an "L" shaped plan and is constructed from coursed and squared rubble, featuring ashlar quoins, a band above the ground floor, and decorative dressings. The building has a hipped mansard roof covered with old tiles.
On the first floor, there are oval windows, with one facing the street and two on the south side, all featuring painted glazing. The ground floor includes a central door with a window to the left and wide double doors to the right, which are adorned with keystones. There is a lower wing on the right side of the building. The rear wall has a ramped central panel, approximately 18 feet high and 15 yards long. The stable block also includes a cobbled courtyard.
