Description

The Old School House is a house, originally built as a school. Dating from the mid-18th century, with the date 1737 scratched into a side elevation, it was altered and extended in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of ashlar with hipped slate roofs concealed behind a parapet and a moulded eaves cornice. The original 18th-century section is single-storied, featuring two glazing bar sash windows in moulded architraves, and a central six-panel door set within a moulded architrave and topped with a pediment supported by brackets. A two-bay wing from the 19th century is located to the right, with a glazing bar sash window in a raised, plain surround, a plain band above, and a wide plain gable containing a blocked window.
