Description

71 New Street is a late 18th-century building that stands three storeys tall and is constructed of red brick. It features a half-hipped roof covered with old tiles. The upper floors have one window each, with recessed sashes that lack glazing bars on the first floor, and are topped with flat arches. The ground floor has a late 19th-century shop front, which includes decorated pilasters and capped brackets that flank the fascia. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 21 to 49 (odd), the School of Arts and Crafts, and Nos 61, 63, and 67 to 75 (odd). Additionally, Nos 67 to 75 (odd) form a group with No 37 High Street.
