Description
No 75 on New Street is a late 18th-century building that stands three storeys tall, constructed of red brick on a stone plinth. It features a hipped old tile roof with flat eaves and a bed mould. The upper floors have one window each, with recessed sashes that are four panes wide. The ground floor originally had a similar window and an architrave doorcase with pilasters, but this has been replaced by a modern shop front in an early 19th-century style. Above the ground floor, there is a notable late 18th-century wrought iron scrolled tradesman's sign bracket. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 21 to 49 (odd), the School of Arts and Crafts, and Nos 61, 63, and 67 to 75 (odd). Additionally, Nos 67 to 75 (odd) form a group with No 37 High Street.
