Description

No. 31 is a house dating from 1811. It is built with roughcast rendering, ashlar stone dressings, and a concrete tile roof, with chimney stacks at each end. The house is double-fronted and two storeys high, featuring paired windows with decorative surrounds on each side and in the centre, framing a doorway within a beaded doorcase topped with a hood supported by brackets. A 20th-century lean-to porch has been added. An oval plaque above the door bears the date 1811 and initials, possibly J.V.S., indicating an alteration. Flush quoins are visible. The rear south-east gable is also visible.
