Description

  1. WOOLLEY GREEN 5411 Gothic Gateway attached to South side of Nos 12 and 13 ST 8361 3/147B

2. Attached to the south side of Nos 12 and 13, and slightly set back from the road, is a large Gothic gateway. Early/mid C19. Coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. Steep triangular gabled top with crenellations and stringcourse. This gable is flanked by two diagonally-set pinnacles with finials and diagonal buttresses. Large 4-centred carriage entrance with plain chamfered arch mouldings. Spur stones to each side of archway. Rubble walls continue forward on each side to join subsidiary pedestrian archways (also with 4-centred arches), flanked by clustered buttresses.

Woolley Green House, Woolley Green Lodge, Nos 12 and 13 Woolley Green with Archway and walls form a group.
