Description
Nos. 5 and 6 in Netherhampton Village are a pair of attached cottages built around 1860. They are constructed from limestone ashlar and feature a Welsh slate roof with a central ashlar stack. The cottages are two stories high and have a two-window front. The planked doors are set back to the left and right, framed by chamfered Tudor-arched doorcases. The gabled projecting front includes two 3-light chamfered mullioned windows with hood moulds and sashes. On the first floor, there are two 2-light chamfered mullioned sashes. Each side of the building has a single sash window with a hood mould above. At the rear, there are two planked doors on either side, along with two 2-light chamfered mullioned windows on both the ground and first floors. Attached to the left and right sides at the rear are single-storey ashlar outhouses with slate roofs and planked doors. These cottages are noted for being a well-designed and unaltered example of Wilton Estate cottages.
