Description
The walls and gate piers to the playing field date from the late 17th century. They are constructed of chequered flint and limestone on the east side, and English bond brick or banded flint and stone on the west side, topped with saddleback stone coping. The gate piers are made of chamfered rusticated stone, featuring moulded capping and ball finials. The wall extends approximately 60 metres to the left and about 10 metres to the right, reaching the boundary with The Coach House. This structure was built as the boundary wall for the now-demolished house of the Michell family, whose monuments can be found in the Church of All Saints.
