Description

This is a house, now a shop, located on High Street in Malmesbury. The original structure dates to the 17th century, but it was significantly refronted in the late 18th century. The building is constructed of rendered limestone rubble with a stone slate roof. The roof is hipped on the left side and has a coped gable on the right. The front of the building incorporates a late 19th-century plate-glass shop front with a recessed central door and iron brackets supporting the fascia. To the left of the shop front is a 6-panel door leading to the flat above. The first floor features 20th-century windows with glazing bars, and a shallow oriel window is situated on the left. At the rear, there's a single-storey block with a gabled dormer. The interior has not been inspected, but the rear block reportedly contains ceiling beams, an old oak stair leading to a loft, and an original roof structure.
