Description

This is an early 18th century and 19th century farmhouse. It is constructed of diaper brickwork, with a slate roof. Originally, the building was symmetrical with five bays and a central entrance. The front door is a half-glazed design with an overlight, set within lined reveals. A later 18th century stone portico with slender Tuscan columns and an entablature featuring Greek fret on the architrave and paterae on the frieze has been added. The windows are twelve-paned sash windows with heavy glazing bars and near flush boxes. They have gauged brick lintels, and the eaves are moulded brick. An external stack is located on the left gable. The right gable was extended in the early 19th century by a wide bay, which is tile-hung, and incorporates paned casement windows. This bay extends to the rear with two further bays, forming a wing with 16-paned sash windows and dentilled eaves, and featuring a gabled stack. The interior was not inspected.
